Teaching Mission & Vision

I aim to provide a welcoming, challenging environment where students develop the academic skills, emotional maturity, and work ethic needed to navigate tomorrow’s world toward success in college, career, and life.

The victories students achieve and the mistakes they make in my classroom are used as valuable learning opportunities that add to their body of knowledge and experience, preparing them to conquer any obstacle and to improve the world around them.

Teaching Mission & Vision

My deepest desire is for students to feel safe and loved in my classroom. I want to bring out and polish their creativity and to provide experiences that allow them to shine and feel important. Students are taught to be responsible for their own learning while I provide the academic rigor and inspire creativity.

I will use the language of music to teach, motivate, engage, and enrich the lives of children in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. I will use music to show historical and cultural connections. I will use music to deepen children’s academic understanding  of reading and mathematics.  I will teach children to “speak” music through instrument playing and singing/performance. I will teach the children to become lifelong consumers of music so they may lead a richer and more well-rounded life.
